Physical Ability Tests
Not every applicant has sufficient strength, endurance, or dexterity to perform certain physically demanding jobs. We develop physical ability tests that legally screen out unqualified candidates, thus increasing job performance while reducing injuries and turnover that result from poor matches between an employee's abilities and the job requirements.
Job Knowledge Tests
Our job knowledge tests require more than a recitation of "book knowledge". Instead, they require candidates to demonstrate the ability to apply their knowledge in performing critical job tasks. This approach identifies candidates who really know how to do the job, not just good students and test takers.
Job Skills Tests
We can directly measure a candidate's skill or ability to perform a task by developing a test that standardizes critical elements of a job. For example, instead of asking a candidate how he or she would fabricate a machine part, we might design a test that requires that person to make a part according to certain specs and tolerances. The same general principle can be applied to management skills, firefighting skills, accounting skills, and so forth.
Test Formats
Web-Based Tests
Online testing offers a number of advantages to clients, especially in terms of timely administration and scoring. We offer several online assessment tools for clients that provide instantaneous results about an applicant's potential. We also have access to an extensive inventory of other online tests for many types of work. This testing format continues to gain popularity among organizations and is fast becoming the preferred medium, especially for entry-level applicants.
Paper-Pencil or Standard Test Formats
Our company, along with most test publishers, continues to offer tests in the traditional “paper-pencil” format. This format is still preferable for many situations such as mass testing sessions where computers are not available, when a candidate may need to compare two graphs that appear on two separate pages, when a single candidate tests in our office, etc.
Video-Based Tests
Conventional employment tests usually present information in a written or narrative format. However, an assessment situation may be better addressed with a visual format such as a video simulation. We develop such tests when written language is a problem for some candidates or when the attribute is too complex to evaluate from a written question (e.g., the ability to persuade or the ability to maintain composure). Video-based tests can be administered online or through individual DVD-TV medium.
