Employee assessments provide a comprehensive evaluation of the abilities and potential of an individual candidate or group of candidates. Assessments may take any of the following forms:
Executive Assessments
Clients often want a neutral, informed opinion about a candidate when hiring for a critical leadership position. We offer a full-day individual assessment designed to understand the complete individual that includes tests, simulations, and an interview with a psychologist. Our oral and written reports provide insight into the candidate's behavior, potential strengths, and long- and short-term developmental needs.
Assessment Centers
Some clients benefit from the assessment of groups of candidates, especially when trying to forecast future leadership skills. Our assessment center method uses testing and simulations that place candidates in situations where they must actually demonstrate leadership abilities. It is also a convenient and cost-effective means of evaluating multiple candidates. We conduct assessment centers in our own state-of-the-art facility in Memphis or at other locations of the client's choosing.
Competency Assessments
Not all individual assessments are for executive positions. We frequently design customized assessments for individual contributor positions and lower or middle management jobs based on the critical competencies required to perform well in that particular position. This job analysis information, whether called "requirements," "attributes," "abilities," or "competencies," forms the basis for all of our assessments.
Leadership Audits
Senior management may ask about the leadership capabilities of their subordinates, the company's "bench strength." New owners may want to know about the leadership talent they "inherited" when acquiring a company. Or, a chief executive may want to know what can be done to develop the leadership team, individually or as a group. In such instances, we can assess the entire leadership structure of an organization and analyze strengths and weaknesses.
Custom Interview Guides
Research confirms that properly developed structured interviews can be as accurate as the best standardized tests. We have created many customized interview guides that include questions, response options, and rating scales. Using these tools, the interviewer can conduct structured interviews that forecast future performance 6 to 7 times more accurately than conventional interviews.
